Schools

We are an approved vendor in several school districts across 29 states and growing weekly. We are Title II, Media and Diversification Program approved. We donate a percentage of each book back to the schools that purchase ‘The Journal’ for use as a supplement to their studies. Each book comes with a vocabulary sheet and a teacher’s key.

In addition, we provide a lesson guide to each teacher. These guides are taken straight from the respective teacher’s state guidelines for their particular subject and grade level. This guides are not lesson plans but are suggestions for the teachers to use. We fully understand that today’s teachers have enough on their plates without us providing more work in order to use the material in class.

We strive to make sure that every teacher who requests a classroom set for their students has whatever is needed to make implementation as stress free to the teacher as possible.

Churches

We have a long history raising money for churches. We have a variety of ways to help your church raise money for your needs. Whether it’s to retire a mortgage, fund an afterschool program, summer camp or for any purpose.

A couple of important notes about our fundraising philosophy. One; we designed every fundraiser to bring in money from OUTSIDE your churches’ congregants. It doesn’t do you much good if you keep going to your own congregation. The second note is we keep the identity of every church that chooses us to help raise funds confidential. Only you and your members will know how much you raised.

If you use ‘The Journal’ as your means of fundraising: all of our fundraising programs are designed to be completed in two weeks. We can run longer, but the reasoning for the two week period is instill a sense of urgency with your congregants and for the church to have the money as soon as possible. Another aspect of using ‘The Journal’ for fundraising is the church has their money upfront.

You collect all the money, tabulate the number of orders and send us the balance. You don’t ever wait for money. We provide packets to every participating congregant that gives them the tools to make your drive successful. Ask about our ‘Speaker’s Bureau’ as another way to raise money for your church.

Adjudicated Reform and Education Programs

We have taken a look at what happens to our youth when they are put into the ‘system’. There isn’t much in the way of education or training. We want to establish a program whereby non-violent and non-predatory incarcerated young men and women get a chance to find alternative avenues to support themselves and their families.

Too many of these young men and women have not been afforded an alternative. We want to change the narrative from ‘at-risk youth’ to ‘young men and women with promise.’ If you know of a young men or women his is currently incarcerated, about to be released or has been released, please call us or send an email and we’ll get back to you to see what we can do to help that person get back on track.

Fundraising

We have, since our inception in 2005, given back a significant portion of our gross revenue. We started out giving back 45%, on average, of every dollar of revenue received. We are proud and glad to say we have moved that amount to 50%. So, half of every dollar of revenue goes to support programs in: education, job creation and health & well-being in the African-American community.

We work with many organizations to raise money for their needs. We have partnered with: Athletic associations, after-school programs, shelters, groups that help folks transition from welfare to being on their own, groups that help formerly incarcerated individuals get back to work and many other organizations that help improve the quality of life for those who need a helping hand.

If you are associated with an organization, or know of an organization that would benefit from our help, please call or send us and email. We’ll get back to you right away and see what we can do to help.
